Winner of the RIBA South Awards 2018, this architecturally striking house has minimal planting beds, instead focusing on sweeping lawns and a large, shallow pond on approach of the property. This contemporary pond has distinctive concrete edges on three of it’s four sides, with the fourth side sloping from lawn to pond plants, acting as a haven for pond wildlife. Minimal landscaping and a reflective pond allows the house and its corten and concrete materials to take centre stage.
The second stage of landscaping, focusing on the larger grounds is due to commence in 2019.
The house is currently on the RIBA House of the Year Longlist 2018.
